So, I often get the question….Well, I can drink right? as long as I make them fit into my macros. The answer is physiologically somewhat complex. I will do my best to sum it up very briefly. The answer is: The calories in the drink in itself is the not the problem. It is what alcohol does when it hits your liver. One of the livers main purpose is to metabolize nutrients. If your body is doing what it is suppose to, then it is working efficiently and metabolizing nutrients. Alcohol is a poison to the body and once it hits the liver and it stops metabolizing nutrients (fat, carbs for example) and has no choice but to store it. So, next time you drink think about that.My suggestion would be to try to minimize your consumption the best you can.
